前西德的波尼M (Boney M)演唱组是七八十年代十分受人瞩目的一个演唱组，乐队成员来自四面八方，有的来自西印度群岛，有的来自牙买加。制作人是弗朗可.菲林(Frank Fariam)。
1977年他们以一曲“Daddy Cool”红极一时，从欧洲演出到美国。由于他们身上特有的
迪斯科韵味，又正好赶上当时
美国风行迪斯科热潮，因而大受欢迎。他们擅长将一些老歌改编成迪斯科节奏的舞曲，而给他们改编的老歌总是别具一格，重放异彩，一下成为热门歌曲，令歌迷拍案叫绝。

2,BM是什么意思?
在乐队组建前期乐队的制作人Frank Farian正在制作歌曲”Baby Do You Wanna Bump?”的时候并没有真正意义上的乐队和乐队的名字.当时Farian和很多的时间和兴趣去看电视.有一天他看到一部澳大利亚电视连续剧中的男主角---一个警察, 他的名字叫Boney. 他不仅喜欢这部电视剧中的这位英雄, 而且他觉的Boney对于他要做的项目将会是一个很好的名字.但是他总觉的缺点什么,所以他开始从字母中寻找.经过他的深思熟虑Boney M这个名字诞生了.
3.BM的成员
乐队最初的我们所熟悉的成员是:
Marcia Barret 1945年10月14日出生于St. Catherines, Jamaica
Liz Mitchell 1952年7月12日出生于Clarendon, Jamaica
Maizie Williams 1951年3月25日出生于Monserrat, West Indies
Bobby Farrell 1949年10月6日出生于Aruba, West Indies
在1982年Reggie Tsiboe (* 1950, Ghana)被介绍进入乐队,但是最初的BM的以下几个成员只在1975的时候呆了几个月的时间.

之后Claudia Barry进入组合但是很快被Liz Mitchell所代替
